A few days ago, a video of a party of construction workers of Serbian origin in Toronto was circulating on the internet, where they poured vodka on a stripper, groped her and danced with her, all to the beats of folk music at the workplace.
Since no one in that video followed the epidemiological measures, and for other, obvious reasons, a big problem arose.
Nelmar Drywall has fired all employees seen in the video, Canadian media reported. “Nelmar has terminated the employment of all individuals involved in the incident depicted in the video,” the company said in a statement.
The company allegedly lost millions of contracts due to the unprofessional behavior of its employees.
The incident is also being widely reported in Serbia, where the workers are from. Serbian media are now reporting that the incident has also affected the workers’ private lives.
“The Serbian community is buzzing about this – a 15-minute video is circulating showing mostly older people ‘celebrating’ a friend’s retirement, with Serbian folk songs blaring, brandy and paid strippers, all without distance or masks, which, unlike Serbia, is a big problem in Canada. Seven or eight Serbian families have been traumatically affected: divorce petitions have been filed, the guy (the only one under 50 in the company) who filmed and posted the video somewhere is in a coma after a severe beating,” wrote one Reddit user on that platform, and Serbian media are mostly reporting his post.
